Reiki is an ancient Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is based on the idea of an unseen "life force energy" flowing through the practitioner's hands to the body of the client. The reiki practitioner is simply a channel through which the reiki flows. This practice can be done through the practitioner laying his/her hands upon the client, just over the client's body, or distantly.
For many centuries, crystals have been used in physical, spiritual, and emotional healing practices. It is said that each stone has its own unique energy and is able to communicate with the energy flow of the human body. Crystal healing can be done in many ways, such as wearing specific crystals, placing them near you, or placing them on the body during a crystal therapy session. Crystal therapy sessions may be incorporated into other treatment sessions.
Each session is experienced differently by every person. No session ever feels the same. Know that there is no wrong or right way to experience these sessions. Some people may feel very energized while other become extremely relaxed. Some people my feel a tingling or buzzing sensation while others don't feel anything at all. Just because you don't feel anything doesn't mean that there isn't an exchange of energy happening.
Animals are extremely sensitive to energy. Due to this, some animals may not prefer to be treated in the same manner as humans. Some animals want to be touched and pet throughout the session, some may be distant at first and then allow a hands-on treatment, while others do not want to be touched at all. During these sessions, I let the animal set the tone. There is an energy exchange that may look more like a meditation than a traditional reiki treatment that a human receives.
Distance reiki and crystal healing form of energy work where the energy is being sent from the practitioner to the client through space and sometimes time. Symbols are used to send and enhance the energy.
Currently, I will do reiki and crystal sessions with adults, children, and any animals. I am working toward certifications in various animal bodywork treatments and will add each service as I become accredited.
